Effort estimation is a crucial aspect of project management, playing a significant role in setting realistic timelines and allocating resources efficiently. It is also a common source of conflicts between software developers and business people.

In this talk, Sebastian Kübeck shares some of the experiences he has gained over the last 25 years. The first part will be a quick introduction into the subject. In the second part, he will demonstrate how to use Python, Jupyter Notebook and Monte Carlo Simulation to get realistic estimates form previous project data.
